  • Digitizing a massive, multi-category physical menu into an intuitive, easily navigable UI on mobile devices.
  • Creating a luxurious, high-end aesthetic without making the website feel slow or bloated.
  • Implementing complex scroll-reveal animations that performed smoothly on low-end Android devices.

Key Learnings

  • Mastered the art of typography and whitespace to convey brand prestige and luxury.
  • Optimized heavy image loading waterfalls using Next.js priority loading algorithms.
  • Learned how to structure semantic HTML for local SEO to dominate Google Maps rankings.

Thalassery Restaurant: A Digital Culinary Experience

A restaurant's website is its digital storefront. Before a customer ever tastes the food, they consume the brand through their screen. The goal for Thalassery Restaurant was to build a digital experience that perfectly mirrored the rich, authentic, and premium nature of their physical dining room.

Restaurant Interior

The Visual Identity

To capture the essence of Thalassery cuisine, the design system relied heavily on deep, warm color palettes and elegant serif typography. However, a beautiful design is useless if the user cannot achieve their primary goals: finding the menu and booking a table.

I implemented a sticky, glassmorphism navigation bar that keeps the primary Call to Action (CTA) constantly accessible without intruding on the stunning food photography.

The Digital Menu Engineering

The most heavily trafficked page on any restaurant website is the menu. Traditional restaurant websites often force users to download clunky, unreadable PDF files.

For Thalassery, I engineered a fully native, responsive digital menu system.

Menu Interface

Dynamic Categorization

The menu is broken down into distinct, filterable categories (Starters, Main Course, Biryani, Desserts). Instead of scrolling endlessly, users can tap a sticky category bar to instantly snap to the relevant section. The pricing and descriptions are rendered in pure HTML, meaning they are perfectly readable on any screen size and instantly indexable by Google.

Local SEO Dominance

A beautiful website is an island without traffic. The underlying architecture was built strictly adhering to modern SEO principles.

By injecting JSON-LD Schema markup into the metadata, search engines immediately understand the business type, opening hours, location, and price range. When hungry locals search for authentic cuisine in their area, the Thalassery website serves as a highly optimized net, capturing the traffic and converting it into booked tables.
